Fairfield County Connecticut. The Town of Monroe Connecticut was incorporated in 1823. Monroe has seen many changes over the past years since it was incorporated, from being a predominantly farming community to a suburban community that maintains itself through progressive economic development. Our recreational facilities such as Wolfe Park, Great Hollow Lake, Webb Mountain, and the Rails to Trails bike paths provide enjoyment for all. Our Senior Center provides an array of services to our Senior Citizens. It is easy to understand why so many people enjoy the Town of Monroe.
Connecticut’s public schools rank among the highest performing in the nation and the world. According to Forbes, Connecticut is one of the top five states in overall academic proficiency. In the 2015-16 Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA), Monroe ranked in the top 11% of Connecticut districts in English Language Arts and in the top 18% of Connecticut districts in math. Additionally, Monroe students scored in the top 8% in science as measured by the Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) and Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT). Masuk High School was recently named a National Blue Ribbon School and was named the 2015 Connecticut Technology High School Program of the Year.

Shelton, Connecticut

Shelton is also home to one of Connecticut's premiere Private High Schools, attracting students from all over Fairfield and New Haven County. St. Joseph High School is a private Catholic high school in Trumbull, Connecticut. A four-year, coeducational college preparatory school, St. Joseph was founded in 1962 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport. The school provides a learning environment that embraces the Gospel values of the Roman Catholic faith and promotes a commitment to family and community.
Shelton was the site of one of the largest arson fires in the United States history. It happened in 1975 when the Sponge Rubber Products plant (formerly owned by B.F. Goodrich) was set on fire. The explosion that destroyed the Sponge Rubber Plant on Canal Street in 1975 marked the start of the decline of Shelton's industries. Efforts are underway to restore nineteenth-century industrial buildings in the downtown area The 10-acre Riverwalk Park next to the Veterans Memorial was created on the site of the former Sponge Rubber Plant. Other buildings along Howe Avenue, one of the city's main thoroughfares, have been restored, while developers have renovated two 19th-century factory buildings on Bridge Street, converting them into luxury condominiums. Several downtown streets have been reconstructed as part of a streetscape improvement project. With the completion of Route 8, new office spaces and businesses were attracted to the town, due to its Fairfield County location coupled with low costs of doing business as opposed to places such as Stamford or Greenwich. Major firms such as Tetley Tea, TIE Communication, I.T.T., Black and Decker, Sikorsky Aircraft, Gama Aviation, Chesebrough-Pond's, Tetra-Pak, General Electric, and Bunker Ramo.
Milford, Connecticut
Welcome to Milford, "A Small City with a Big Heart!"
